The University of Minnesota dance team finished atop the field in two categories—Division 1A Jazz and Division 1A Pom—at the 2023 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship in Orlando, Fla.

The titles add to the luster of the Gophers’ dance dynasty. Since 2003 the team has won 21 national championships in jazz and pom. Included over that span has been a run of eight straight titles in the pom division, and six years with championships in both jazz and pom.

The Minnesota spirit squad also finished in the top five in three other categories: Division IA Coed Cheer Game Day (4th), Small Coed Division IA Cheer (3rd), and Division 1A Mascot (5th).
